There’s lots happening in Parenta right now and I thought you may be interested to know a little more about what we are doing – and how some of it may work for you.

New recruitment web-site

We receive in excess of 400 emails each month asking for advice on job vacancies. Sadly, we have been able to do little about this but now things are about to change. Last week, we launched a new recruitment website exclusively for the Early Years workforce. Working in tandem with national recruitment professionals we will initially have more than 16,000 sector jobs on offer.  Currently we have 20,000 site visitors – so many can be referred to the Recruitment site. We expect to link this to Job Centre Plus and Sector Skills Council’s employment websites so that it will increase the reach and opportunity.

Regista software for childminders

This simple and cost-effective new software package is aimed at childminders and pre-schools . Deliberately lacking in complexity and easy to use, it will be a real helping hand for those who are run ragged by maintaining efficient paperwork and invoicing. It Following an initial presentation in West Sussex it has attracted interest from a number of Local Authorities who are keen to advise their childminders on the best products available to them. We have taken feedback from initial customers and end-users which has resulted in additional functionality being built in to it and a late March launch will really showcase it’s potential.

Do you need sector feedback?

We send a fortnightly newsletter to 12,000 Early Years professionals covering a range of topical themes. We tend to get a great response to reader polls in these newsletters. A recent example was our question on the biggest challenges childcare providers face.

If there are subjects that our partners would like feedback on, we can arrange to add your question(s) into our next survey. We’d keep your details anonymous, but by targeting a national audience you would get a broad range of responses – and often these would be more open than if they came from your own website. There is no charge for this service, but we are limited on space. Email adam.limbrey@parenta.com to arrange this.

Building our first pre-school in Uganda!

Last year, we started with the aim of building our first pre-school and, in order to do this, we set about the task of raising money with our first Maidstone to Monaco banger rally.

Driving 1,100 miles to Monaco and back, the event proved to be a huge success and we raised a fantastic £15,000. This enabled us to start work on buiding our first pre-school based in an area called Luwero, in Uganda.

Now around six weeks from completion, the pre-school will provide education for around 120 orphans and deprived children in the area. We travelled to Uganda along with two representatives from Fields of Life, our official partner, to break ground. Read about our trip here.
