Michael and Marina Scott are accused of an estimated £950,000 tax and National Insurance fraud and were due to stand trial on December 1st. This has now been postponed until May 2015.

The couple were owners of Pixies Day Nursery in Locks Heath at the time of the alleged fraud, with Mrs Scott being charged with failing to account for National Insurance contributions and PAYE on behalf of their staff at the business.

Mr Scott is accused of failing to safeguard the financial interests of his employees  by failing to account for National Insurance contributions or Pay as You Earn payments to HMRC. It is said he abused his position as an employer during April of 2007 and November 2011, the time the offences are said to have happened.

The couple both deny charges and will now have to wait until May 2015 to stand trial, after a key witness has had to undergo surgery.
