Award-winning Kids 1st Nurseries has been given planning permission to build its 12th nursery in Ashbrooke, which will employ 25 full time staff.

The new purpose-built setting is set to open in January of next year and will have spaces for 108 children aged 3 months to 5 years old. The new setting will also include a separate enclosed garden.

Allison Winship, Head of Childcare at Kids 1st , said:

“We are delighted to be opening our twelfth nursery in Sunderland in what will be our twelfth year in business.”

“This is a really exciting time for Kids 1st. We are opening three new nurseries in the North East over the next 18 months, but Sunderland is particularly special to us as we have been looking for a location to build here for a while. We believe we have found the perfect site, the nursery is surrounded by lots of mature trees, perfect for exploring and outdoor play.”

“We have already started to make links with local organisations, including the Foundation of Light, and we can’t wait to become part of the city of Sunderland.”

Nursery World has awarded Kids 1st Nurseries with Highest Quality Childcare Provider in the UK for 4 consecutive years, and it prides itself on outstanding features including a coffee to go service for parents!
