Pear Tree Nursery, in Haddington, accepted the award for Scotland’s Nursery of the Year, from TV presenter and entertainer Dave Benson Phillips. The nursery also celebrated winning runner-up for the Investing in Your People category.
The National Day Nurseries Association’s Nursery Awards are the only awards in the childcare sector voted for by parents (with around 7,000 voting this year) to celebrate excellence in early years childcare.
Pear Tree Nursery manager, Heather Goode said: “We are all absolutely delighted to have received this recognition. Thank you to all our parents who voted for us. Without this, we would never have been considered for this award.
“We had such an amazing experience at the awards ceremony and are looking forward to celebrating with our full staff team and families.
“Everyone at Pear Tree works really hard to ensure each child has ownership over their learning and we strive to improve our environment daily. The staff are dedicated to ensuring that we provide the highest possible provision and ensure each child develops as a unique individual.”
The Judges commented that they were impressed with the nursery’s strong community links, quality improvement and eco-credentials.
When voting, one parent stated: “Pear Tree Nursery is a fantastic resource for our local community. The commitment and enthusiasm of the staff is beyond expectations.
“When I drop my son off in the morning, I know that he is going to have a fun-filled educational day.”
Congratulations to Pear Tree Nursery on their award for Scotland’s Nursery of the year and to runners-up Arnhall Day Nursery in Dunblane!
