Little Stars pre-school in Baughurst is celebrating after receiving an ‘outstanding’ across the board in their recent Ofsted inspection.
The latest inspection has seen the setting step up from ‘good’ with the report praising them for effectiveness of the leadership and management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare and outcomes for children.
In the report, the inspector highlighted that staff were “vigilant” in keeping children safe whilst they played and explored the local community. They also highlighted how the enthusiasm and teaching from staff inspired the children they cared for, who “eagerly join in, concentrate and persevere”.
The report also stated: “Their [teachers’] clear explanations and thought-provoking questions enhance children’s understanding and promote their use of new vocabulary.”
Children had “superb opportunities to take part in daily physical exercise in the fresh air and explore the local area as they walked to the local library to choose new books”.
The report also highlighted that children made excellent progress and partnerships with parents were excellent, with parents themselves highlighting the valued depth of care, experience, dedication and responsibility staff demonstrated.
Parents also commented on the extremely secure base of learning the staff and setting provided for their children.
As additional improvements, the report suggested the setting should implement plans to share ideas and resources with parents, helping provide continuity for the children and specific aspects of their learning.
Congratulations Little Stars pre-school!
