York Gardens Nursery are thrilled to announce they have been graded outstanding by Ofsted in a recent inspection

York Gardens Nursery in Battersea is thrilled to announce it has been rated outstanding in all four areas in its recent inspection. The nursery is celebrating as its leadership and management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare and outcomes for children have received the highest rating.

Ofsted have reported that: “Children make exceptional progress and staff offer children a vast range of carefully prepared and highly stimulating activities.

“Children are very motivated to learn and extremely motivated. They have very strong relationships with staff, who value them highly as individuals. Children settle exceptionally well.

“Children develop excellent skills to support their future learning.

“Children behave in excellent ways and staff use highly effective approaches to manage behaviour extremely well.

“Staff have excellent partnerships with parents and others involved in the children’s learning. For instance, they offer advice and support to parents by providing workshops on different early years issues.

The setting opened in 2014 with support from Wandsworth Early Years’ Service and provides care for children aged from 2 to 5 years.

The nursery currently has space for 48 children and its staff are led by manager Sonia Lee.

Sonia said: “We are delighted to have been recognised for the high standard of quality childcare we always strive to achieve and have many parents returning to us as their families grow.

“All our staff are wonderful, motivated and hardworking and thoroughly deserve to be rated outstanding.

“The nursery aims to build on its strengths and would love to expand its provision within Wandsworth in the future.

“I would like to thank our parents and their commitment to York Gardens Nursery and this really is a celebration of excellence and outstanding practice and partnership working.”

The nursery currently has spaces for children aged 2 and 3 years and welcomes applications from families eligible for 2- and 3-year-old funding and the new 30-hour offer for working parents.
