For a 14th year The Sunday Times has collated a list of the best companies to work for in the UK, with Childbase Partnerships ranking in 16th place, giving them their 2nd top 20 ranking in as many years.  The employee owned organisation also took the top spot for the coveted 'Best for Wellbeing' award, beating 900 companies.

Childbase Partnership HR Director, Helen Bass said:

"People are the cornerstone of our operation and every employee is in fact a partner so we are enormously proud of this achievement. It is all the more meaningful when you consider the competition from giant retailing and small office-based organizations which have the luxury of creating working environments that are all about employee happiness and well-being,"

With over 5,000 children in the care of Childbase Nurseries over the country, the ranking has been a great reason to celebrate with Michelle Packeer, team leader at Westwood Day Nursery in Coventry, explaining:

"Ofsted inspectors have told us repeatedly that a happy and engaged staff team equals happy children. Our pride in our nursery and our company is reflected in our happy and confident children and there is nothing more rewarding or satisfying than that."

Reflecting this the company also achieved top scores nationally; taking third place for making good use of employee skills, fifth place for job security and sixth place for personal growth.

With so many negative stories in the news, is it good to see something so positive for the sector?
