Judges praised the setting for turning ‘theory into practice to provide children with stimulating experiences and innovative learning opportunities’
And, in an amazing twist, the nursery has only been open since November 2013. Within that short amount of time, the pre-school has received an outstanding rating from Ofsted.
Owner and manager of the nursery, Marie Walker, puts the success down to ‘passion, commitment and just love for early years’ saying:

When selecting the winners, judges pointed to a number of initiatives and facilities that the site has including the garden room, water therapy room, sensory room, allotment (which is used by pre-schoolers to grow vegetables to be used for nursery meals), a ‘floor book’ which allows children to record their ideas, and visits to such community facilities as the library, pet shop, the park, theatre and local museum.

As a past winner of Nursery World Preschool of the Year (2009) I would like to congratulate Little Learners Pre-school on their achievement. It is a wonderful award to win and an accolade to the achievements that you’ve had to date.
