The Ark Nursery in Epwell, Oxon wanted to share the fantastic news that they got "Outstanding" in their recent Ofsted inspection. Congratulations! Julia Neal, nursery manager/owner, had this to say:
We are a very small rural private nursery in Epwell, a tiny village, north of Banbury, on the North Oxfordshire and Warwickshire border.
During a very recent OFSTED inspection, we received the highest possible grading of 'Outstanding'.
We celebrated our success with the children and their families by having a Prince and Princess party in the local village hall. The children played lots of party games and we had a cerebration afternoon tea.
In a congratulatory letter from Oxfordshire County Council, Rebecca Matthews, Interim director - Education and Learning noted that the following details in our report were particularly impressive:
- Children are extremely independent and confident decision makers, as they are actively involved in making their own choices throughout the day.
- Systems for the assessment of children are sharply focussed, clearly showing that children make exceptional progress.
- Robust recruitment processes, regular supervision and checking staff performance lead to a high level of quality care and education throughout the nursery.
- Excellent partnerships between parents and the nursery staff ensure that parents are well informed about their child's developmental progress.
Myself and staff feel immense pride and satisfaction in knowing that we give children in our care the best possible start in life.
