Michelle, nursery owner at Sam’s Learning Tree in Denbighshire, wanted to share how her setting celebrated International Mud Day:
“We’ve had the best day, having read about ‘International Mud Day’ we printed information for the children from this website and the Mud Pack 2015 from Muddyfaces website, laminated it into a book and left it in the reading area of the outdoor play area.
The children were fascinated, so this weekend we had a tonne bag of soil delivered, covered the play area with plastic tarp and put in a paddling pool (Mud Bath), all the trays with Dinosaur Hunt, carrot growing, potato digging, and what fun was had (staff and children); we started with dry mud, sticky mud, wet mud and runny mud.
Best part – Children not wanting to leave the area
Hardest part – Cleaning up!”
