The nursery in Waterfoot has been praised by inspectors for ‘strong leadership and management’ and a team which placed a ‘strong emphasis on gathering the views of others,’ to help improve further.
The report also went on to highlight that children were:
‘Extremely settled and confident in using resources to support their play’ with staff serving as ‘positive role models.’
Staff were also praised for their support of children with English as an additional language, as well as the manner in which they approached risk management, which includes daily safety checks.
The report stated that children were ‘encouraged to follow their interests’ and that the nursery promoted a healthy relationship with parents, using an online software programme to help parents contribute to their child’s learning. The report highlighted that to obtain an ‘outstanding’ rating, the nursery needed to support children to connect ideas and develop their vocabulary, with outdoor play opportunities also recommended.
Nursery manager Kimberley Hartley said of the inspection: “This recognises all the hard work that has gone into the children’s care and education. We continue to strive to improve our care and embrace the longer term objectives that Ofsted set us.”
