Startpoint Northam, a 32 place nursery for 2, 3 and 4 year olds in Southampton, has been given the highest possible rating by Ofsted during its most recent inspection on 8th October.

The Ofsted inspector commented on the excellent progress made by the children who attend the nursery due to the dedicated staff team who inspire children to be inquisitive and enthusiastic learners. The manager, Teresa Falla-Wilson, who was noted as being an exceptional role model for staff has ‘an ambitious vision for the pre-school and responds to the needs of the children and families.’

The majority of the children who attend the nursery and their families have English as an additional language.

Parents spoke of positive relationships which are developed before the children start at the nursery, so leading to more settled children who are then more receptive to learning. Parents feel involved in their children’s learning, and their views are valued.

The nursery was seen to offer an abundance of fun activities which are suited to each child’s specific needs.
