St Luke’s Pre-School Nursery, South Elmsall, has received an “outstanding” rating in four separate areas from Ofsted, which is a triumph following their “satisfactory” score attained just two years ago!
The report states how manager Jane Oxley is “an inspirational leader” who has “made vast improvements to achieve excellence in every aspect of the pre-school.”
The report added: “Children flourish in this nurturing environment, as staff are exceptionally caring and know children incredibly well. Staff are highly considerate of parents’ and children’s feelings during settling-in times.”
The nursery can care for up to 32 children aged 2 to 5 and encourages them to learn through lots of activities, including outdoor play.
The setting was praised for its ability to involve parents: staff asked parents to provide their views on the nursery through the use of a questionnaire in order to highlight areas of improvement.
The nursery was also commended for the behaviour of the children. The report added: “Children receive constant praise and encouragement.
“Their behaviour is excellent, as staff place a great emphasis on teaching children how to share and treat their friends kindly.”
The report states: “Staff’s quality of teaching is consistently of a very high standard.
“Their excellent interactions contribute to children being fully engaged in purposeful play. Children are continually making discoveries and experiencing new things.”
