A pre-school in Kirkcudbright, Scotland, held sponsored walks in the local area in March and managed to raise £548.75 with the help of the community.

Kirkcudbright Pre-school group were also visited by the Care Inspectorate team in the same month and received a very good report. The team felt that the group provided a stimulating environment for children to grow and develop their life skills. They also praised the warm, caring relationships between staff, parents/carers and children.

Following the visit, it was noted that staff were committed to the ongoing development of the service and to improving learning and teaching to enhance children’s experiences.

The Care Inspectorate also felt that children have many opportunities for outdoor learning within the outdoor area and garden.

Last weekend, the group participated in another fundraising event where they held a coffee morning in St. Andrew’s & St. Cuthbert’s Church Hall, Kirkcudbright. A raffle and silent auction were held, with additional money raised from tray bake and used toy sales.
