Following a recent Ofsted inspection at the end of March, the nursery staff and students of St Helens College are celebrating their ‘outstanding’ grading in all four areas of the inspection!
The nursery is based at the town centre campus and provides childcare for the students who attend the college; catering for 64 children aged from birth up to five years old.
The nursery also supports children with special educational needs and disabilities as well as children whose first language is not English.
The Ofsted inspector who visited the nursery, Susan Hopper, said: “The staff team is well qualified and highly experienced. They demonstrate a strong commitment to providing the highest standard of care and learning.
“All children consistently make high rates of progress in relation to their starting points. Children of all ages and abilities gain the confidence and skills they need for the next stage in their learning, including starting school.”
Deputy principal Brian Dean added: “The college prides itself on the support that is made available to our students; this outstanding childcare provision enhances this package further. Nicola, our nursery manager, and her team have worked tirelessly to establish a strong, secure environment for our students’ children to learn, develop and grow.”
