The Kelvedon and Feering Pre-school is celebrating after construction has begun on a new building at their setting. Funded entirely by donations, there will be an extensive remodel with an existing building being completely replaced with a new, larger construction.
The building works will help to enable the setting to offer more places to 2,3 and 4-year-olds in the local area. A registered charity, the setting has been raising funds to support the expansion over the last 10 years.
To help in their efforts, the pre-school hosted events such as a Toddler Toddle, charity race nights and school photographs.
Manager Sonia Carrington said: “While our old building offered a safe, secure and stimulating environment for our children we do have a waiting list of parents who want their children to join us here at Kelvedon and Feering Pre-school, and the existing buildings were full to capacity.
“Our new building will allow us to offer more children spaces here with us, helping to prepare them for starting school when they turn four years old.
“This new building has been made possible thanks to the generosity of our parents, grandparents and local businesses who have supported our fundraising efforts.
“I would like to say thank you to all those who have donated, sponsored and participated in these events over the past ten years.”
