Jade Turnbull-Allen, Supervisor at Forest Row Community Pre-School in East Sussex, had this story to share with us:
“The children and staff joined the community by having a delicious hot lunch in the cafe located in our community centre. We decided to link the visit with British Pie Week, so the children enjoyed a beef onion pie and mash with delicious ginger cake to finish.
“The outing really benefits our working towards learning goals in the EYFS framework. It’s a great way to let the children learn about British society and values. At Forest Row Community Pre-School we feel it is important to be a part of our local community and to support community and local businesses. We also feel it is important for the children to learn table manners and etiquette for eating out.
“We are really enjoying our close relationship with Forest Row Parish Council, they have gone out of their way to support our visits and welcome us to take part in community events. We are incredibly lucky to be located in such a caring community with fantastic opportunities.”
