Maples Day Nursery in Winchester has received and ‘Outstanding’ from Ofsted. The nursery in Hatherley Road has joined only 15 per cent of all English early years providers who have achieved an ‘Outstanding’ from Ofsted.
The manager, Sarah Gibson said: “I have the best possible team of dedicated and talented colleagues working closely with supportive and enthusiastic parents to give each and every child the best possible start in life. This team work over many years has made this nursery outstanding; that Ofsted has made it official is absolutely wonderful,”
The nursery received a glowing report from Ofsted, the inspectors said how the staff had a superb knowledge of the children’s interests, they are well qualified and experienced, they have been able to establish exceptionally strong relationships at every level, and the teaching was described as inspirational.
Ofsted also highlighted that, “Children are highly independent and inquisitive learners. They relish opportunities to lead their own play and explore their ideas in the well-resourced and vibrant learning environment, both inside and out. They develop exceptionally high levels of confidence and self-esteem and are extremely well prepared for starting school.”
Staff, children and parents were all extremely pleased with the result and a fete took place on the 10th June, where local families could attend and celebrate.
