Bargates Nursery in Leominster is having a double celebration after receiving an ‘outstanding’ grade from Ofsted and celebrating being open for 20 years.
The nursery was rated ‘outstanding’ in all areas when it was inspected in September.
The Ofsted report stated that the ‘leadership of the nursery inspirational’ and that ‘exceptional quality of care and learning’ was provided. It also recognised that the staff were ‘positive role models’.
The report found that there was precise tracking of each child’s progress and that the children exceeded the national average across all areas of learning. It also touched on the fact that the children enjoy home cooked meals by the in-house chef.
The nursery cares for children from three months old to five years; they also run after-school and holiday clubs.
Bargates was founded in 1997 by Gill Bilborough after she secured the derelict Leominster British school building which has had a history of education since 1861.
She said: “We are so proud to be part of the ‘team of highly qualified and experienced staff who are passionate about their role’ and we love our ‘excellent partnership with parents’. Most of all though we feel privileged to share in the early years of so many wonderful children whose ‘behaviour is exemplary’. What a way to celebrate our 20th birthday.”
