This was my final week working at the pre-school before we close for the summer holidays! We celebrated by getting the soft shapes out for the children to play with and we all had cake. Now I can look forward to an amazing 6 weeks off to spend with my family. I hope having this time off will enable me to get ahead with my coursework, too.
Today is also my son’s 7th birthday and I am throwing him a surprise party – I have invited some of his friends around. We are away this weekend in Bewley and also have plans to take the children to Legoland and Weymouth this summer.
It was very emotional for me this week – lots of tears as I said goodbye to some of my key children who are leaving for Big School in September. In the new term, I will have 4 children still in my care and a new girl who will be just starting.
I have worked in the pre-school since April last year and, in that time, you see the children learn and grow so much. They are honestly like my own children which is why it’s always hard to say goodbye to them when they move on.
