Southsea pre-school – ‘Pebbles’, was rated “good” by Ofsted on their first inspection. Both staff and children celebrated the occasion.
The Ofsted report stated that the pre-school gives children security in “such a friendly and welcoming” environment.
Kirstine Aldridge, the pre-school’s manager, said to Portsmouth News: “I am over the moon with our outcome. I am very proud of how hard the staff work and the dedication and care they show towards each and every child. As a team, we have worked extremely hard to build Pebbles up to the standard it is today.”
The report also praised Pebbles pre-school for giving the children a great learning environment to gain independence and develop skills, with good use of resources.
“Children develop positive emotional attachments with staff, and the key-person system is used effectively in helping children to settle when they first start. The staff build on children’s confidence and sense of belonging well, and constantly praise children for their achievements,” said the Ofsted inspector.
The Ofsted report also commended the management and Mrs Aldridge for “supporting her staff well.”
Kirstine Aldridge added that the recognition also goes to the parents who support the pre-school.
