We’ve been waiting with bated breath for Ofsted to announce the changes set to come into play; and on the 2nd Sept, a news article was released on the GOV.UK website, providing a brief outline of what these would be.
The biggest change is the new framework – which can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/education-inspection-framework
This is what inspectors will be using to grade early years settings during inspections and will be used from the beginning of September!
Replacing the common inspection framework is the education inspection framework, and there are now new guides to support providers and schools in preparing for an inspection.
Ofsted Parent View
As of September, the questions asked in this survey will be changing, linking more with the new education inspection framework. Whilst some questions have been adapted or removed altogether, the focus of others has changed, whilst still asking parents how strongly they agree or disagree with statements about their child’s school.
There are now also new questions relating to SEND.
Learner View and Employer View
From Monday 2nd September, these surveys will be hosted on a new platform and will now only be available during an inspection. Questions have also been adapted to suit the new inspection framework.
More information can be found on the GOV.UK website.
