Press release from Little Adventurers Nursery.
There is extra joy and much celebration at Little Adventurers Nursery, Upminster this week, having just won their 3rd Award this year! Their exceptionally talented Manager, Ginny Andreas said she was both, “Overwhelmed and over the moon”, to win Nursery World’s Manager of the Year Award 2019 on Saturday night at The Brewery in the heart of London.
Ginny said, “Having worked in the Early Years sector for over 30 years, I have had the privilege of working with some of the most eager and enquiring minds, in both young children and adults who share my passion for offering a rich and nurturing childhood to our youngest children. I want to especially thank those who have trusted me, believed in me and walked with me on my journey towards excellence; Lee Stimpson, the Nursery’s Director; Chris Ford, my closest colleague; our wonderful senior team, Charlotte, Kerry and Lewis and every parent who has entrusted their precious child into our care. I count myself truly lucky to have found my vocation in life and to have the privilege of influencing the lives of many children in some small but significant way.”
This individual and family run nursery located in Cranham has been in operation for just 4 years and has already achieved great things. Alongside, scooping the Nursery Manager of the Year Award, the Nursery is also a U.K. top 6 finalist for Health and Wellbeing Nursery of the Year; promoting healthy lifestyles is deeply rooted into the nursery where each child is truly cherished as they grow and develop. Their latest awards include being a Top 20 London Nursery for Daynurseries.co.uk (as voted for by parents) and they are the first setting in Havering and across outer London to have achieved a GOLD Healthy Early Years London Award. Earlier this year, they were honoured to host a visit by the Deputy Mayor of London, Joanne McCartney in recognition of their work around health, well being and school readiness.
Councillor Robert Benham, Havering’s Cabinet Member for Education, Children and Families, said, “This is a fantastic accolade and demonstrates Ginny’s dedication to leading a first class nursery. The Council is committed to giving every child a healthy start and has worked closely with Little Adventurers for many years to support their work, particularly the tooth brushing programme designed to tackle childhood tooth decay at an early age.”
Nursery Director, Lee Stimpson, couldn’t be more proud of his nursery team, “I am absolutely thrilled about Ginny winning the Manager of the Year Award which is very well deserved as she is an exceptional Manager. On top of that, to also be nominated as a UK Top 6 Finalist for Health and Wellbeing is very special indeed as we’ve made it a priority to offer optimum nutrition and promote healthy living. I know that Ginny and I both feel it is about being a great team and moving forwards together, on a journey of continuous development and improvement for everyone at Little Adventurers. I would like to thank our fantastic team of motivated nursery practitioners who provide our little ones with a rich world to explore everyday. Thanks must also go to my Aunts, Chris and Karen for their key roles in this nursery and to Celia Freeth and the Quality Assurance Team from Havering for their support with our HEYL Awards. Ultimately we want to give early years children in Havering the best possible start and working in close partnership with the Local Authority supports this goal in every way.”
Little Adventurers is definitely a special kind of place where children build warm and trusting relationships with the hand selected team of professional nursery practitioners. Staff love working there and comment that, “It’s very different from any other nursery I have ever worked in before. Here, children really do come first and everything else fits around their needs.” Staff feel valued and listened to and it is clearly an inspirational setting. As one parent commented after hearing of the Award on Saturday night, “Well done Ginny and all the staff, I knew you would do it. Such an amazing nursery, our little ones are very lucky to have such a wonderful team caring for them.”
