Tops Prince Rock, on Lucas Terrace, Plymouth, have achieved their Schema Play Accreditation. This helps children to develop much more effectively by tuning into their interests and schemes and then seeding resources and activities to really engage and fascinate young minds and bodies.
Throughout Tops, the staff focus on identifying children's operational schemes observed in their free play. We skillfully nurture children’s abilities in their observed schemes, support their self-esteem and build upon schemes to support new learning. Schema Play is a pedagogy, a style of teaching. We have implemented ‘Schema play’ across all of our settings to help narrow the gap for any children showing signs of delay and to also enhance the learning experiences for all children that attend Tops settings. This means that at you can be rest assured that the staff throughout our nurseries will be planning exciting and challenging experiences that your child will be interested in, which in turn will be stimulating their learning to help them grow and develop.
