On 30th September 2022, Ofsted launched a new early years blog, for everyone who works in the early years sector.

Yvette Stanley, Ofsted's National Director of Regulation and Social Care said; “We will use this new blog to help raise understanding of different types of early years and childcare providers, as well as bust myths in the sector about regulation and inspection. You’ll be able to read about developments specifically in the early years sector here. We will use this platform to raise awareness and promote a better understanding of education and care in children’s early years.

We’re launching the blog at a time when we have placed early years education at the heart of our new 5-year strategy. Although many children do well in the early years, over a quarter are not where they should be in their learning and development by the age of 5, a situation that has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The original education blog will now be dedicated to schools and further education and skills providers.”

The blog can be found here.
