Tops Day Nurseries, an eco-sustainable family of day nurseries, have recently taken part in Children’s Book Week 2022.
Tops have been working hard to promote the importance of reading in Early Years Education during Children’s Book Week 2022 which took place in the UK from 7th to 13th November 2022.
Tops Day Nurseries have nurseries in Dorset, Hampshire, Plymouth, Somerset, and Wiltshire. Nurseries across Tops took the opportunity to read some of their children’s favourite books, including, The Gruffalo, Mr Big, Commotion in the Ocean, The Three Little Pigs, Guess How Much I Love You in the Autumn and much more.
Tops also reached out to their staff and parents to share photos of family members reading to their little ones, to help spread the importance of reading and being read to in the early years.
Diane Wycherley, Director of Early Years Quality said; “Reading at Early Years level is crucial for the development of young children. It is part of everyday life at Tops Day Nurseries, and we provide as many opportunities as we can for our children to read and be read to, even outside of nursery. For example, many of our Tops nurseries have created a lending library to allow parents and children access to books and other reading materials that they may not have previously been able to access. It is from initiatives like our lending libraries and weeks like this that we can share just how important reading in the early years is”.
Tops Day Nurseries provides eco-sustainable Early Education and Care for children aged 3 months to school age. They have over 30-day nurseries across the South and Southwest. Tops also offer before, after-school and Hi5 holiday clubs for children up to the age of 11.
