About The Level 2 Course

How Do I Achieve The Qualification?

The course is made up of a number of units each with a credit score. You must complete all 37 credits to achieve the Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner. This course will include personal learning and thinking skills, employment rights and responsibilities as well as Functional Skills in English and maths.

How Will I Be Assessed?

You’ll be assessed through a mixture of ‘at home’ and ‘at work’ tasks. Before this happens, your tutor will talk with you to find out what learning style suits you best and tailor your assessments around it.

Will I Need To Attend Classes?

Great news – there are no classes to attend at a college, but you will be required to attend virtual teaching and learning sessions that we provide. You will have regular contact with your Parenta tutor either remotely or face to face to observe you at work and check you’re fulfilling the course requirements. Your tutor will set you course work to complete on OneFile our e-learning platform and will agree submission timings with you. It is important that you meet your submission deadlines to ensure you complete your qualification on time.

How Long Will The Course Take Me To Complete?

As with anything worthwhile, this course requires you to dedicate some of your time to it. This will be up to 15 months in total if you are working full-time – and longer if you are working part-time. But remember, afterwards, you’ll have the fantastic feeling of becoming a professionally recognised early years practitioner and set yourself up for a rewarding career.

You will be assigned your own tutor to support you throughout your qualification. However, you may be required to do some independent learning.

The course is made up of 2 parts, as follows:

Main part of the course – 12 months if you are working full-time (longer if you are working part-time)

The units are based around your skills, knowledge and behaviours which you gain throughout your apprenticeship.

English and maths Functional Skills Level 1 (and Level 2 attempted if not exempt)

Part 2 is in two sections - duration 3 months:

Preparation for your End Point Assessment (this is called Gateway).

Upload your English and maths Functional Skills Certificates

Evidence of portfolio work

End Point Assessment consisting of a multiple choice test around your skills, knowledge and behaviours and a professional discussion, supported by your portfolio.

What Our Customers Say...

Throughout my whole course I have received all the assistance and the support that I needed to accomplish it successfully. This is largely thanks to my tutor Tina who has always been here for me. She always answered my questions straight away and made all of the learning so much more interesting… Even when she was moving and that I was waiting for my new tutor to contact me Tina kept on looking after me, marking my assignment and encouraging me in my progress… Thank you so much for everything.

Tina Butler is a very competent assessor who supports her candidates to the end of their course. Giving them extra help if needed and getting to know them and what is needed from each candidate. A caring professional.

I have recently passed my Level 3 Diploma for the Children’s Workplace EYE (RQF). I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Jeanette Arnold for her calm and relaxed manner in which she guided me through the course. I found it challenging during these extraordinary times, obviously during COVID-19, I was unable to be taught face to face, but with the professionalism, clarity and well laid out tasks of Jeanette, I managed to get through. Whenever I spoke to Jeanette for queries, I felt confident and at ease, which you will see from my feedback recordings. Again, many thanks to Parenta, but especially Jeanette, who is a true asset to your company in these very unprecedented and difficult times.

Erica Salé

I am so glad that I had the chance to do my Level 3 childcare course with Parenta, it has been a delightful experience very smooth and efficient. Thanks to Tina Butler everything was always on time, from setting new assignments to marking them. Tina was very helpful during my course and was always easy to contact when needed. I had set goals for myself and we have spoken about this with Tina Butler that I wanted to become a room leader, I am happy and proud to say I have become the baby room leader!!

I just want to say a massive thank you to Jeanette for getting me through my apprenticeship after having such a struggle with the many assessors I have had. She has got me through my apprenticeship in 8 weeks and finally taught me in a way that I could understand. I am extremely thankful to her.

Katie was wonderful, the support and encouragement I got was fantastic.

Great service! Pippa is an amazing hard working assessor and needs more recognition and a pay rise for the amount of work load she has put on her.

Linda was honestly the most helpful assessor – she understood the way I learn and am able to complete assignments and was always available for any help or assistance! She was so warm natured and honestly cared about my course and progress. Couldn’t thank her enough, I feel like without her help I would have fallen really far behind.
