Dr Sue Roffey

Sue Roffey FRSA FBPsS is a psychologist, academic, author, activist and speaker. She is an Honorary Associate Professor at University College, London, a Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPsS), and of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), a member of the Advisory Board of the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools, a member of the Steering Group for the Global Citizenship Foundation’s International Conference on Transformative Education 2025 for Human and Planetary Flourishing, a member of the Expert Group for the OECD’s project New Perspectives on Childhood, and a past member of the Editorial Board of Educational and Child Psychology.

Sue spent much of the early years of this century in Australia, where she founded the Wellbeing Australia network and developed the Aboriginal Girls Circle – a program for Indigenous young women, based in the Circle Solutions principles and pedagogy, which is proving to be an effective intervention for developing healthy relationships, resilience and student responsibility. Since 2017 Sue has been back in the UK, where she is focused on developing the ASPIRE principles that underpin projects to address whole child, whole school wellbeing – including the wellbeing of teachers.
