Introducing Guest Author and Industry Expert: Gina Bale

Gina Bale’s journey from elite dance training into teaching movement within early years education reflects her passion for helping every child feel seen, heard, and included. Recognising a gap in traditional approaches, she developed a unique, holistic method that places movement, music, and communication at the heart of learning, leading to the creation of Little Magic Train.

Gina’s work focuses on supporting inclusive practice for all children, particularly those with SEND, PMLD, and EAL, using multi-sensory approaches, sustained shared storytelling, and visual communication strategies such as Colourful Semantics. Her approach helps practitioners create environments where every child can engage, express themselves, and begin their journey into language and literacy.

Her movement qualifications include the Royal Ballet School Diploma of Teaching Dance, the Trinity College Diploma of Dance Teaching (Children and Young Adults), and her initial teacher training through the Royal Academy of Dance, where she was awarded the Iris Truscott Bursary for Excellence, followed by SEND movement training at Laban Conservatoire. She was also employed by the Royal Ballet School on their Primary Steps programme, supporting high-quality dance education in primary settings. Gina works with Mackintyre Dance, contributing to an inclusive environment where adults with SEND can freely engage, communicate, and experience the joy of movement and music. 

Little Magic Train resources hold the Montessori STAR endorsement, further reflecting Gina’s commitment to child-centred, inclusive education. 

Gina has collaborated with organisations including Butlin’s, Nick Jr., Hi-5, Angelina Ballerina, and the Prince of Wales Arts & Kids Foundation, bringing together movement, creativity, and learning to inspire both children and educators.
