Halo Nursery is a new nursery based in Haggerston. The nursery aims to provide exceptional care to children aged 1-3, in a rich yet challenging environment, allowing the children extensive opportunities to play, learn and most importantly have fun. In a culturally-diverse setting, that embraces parents, children and employees from all walks of life and strive to cater to the needs of the wider community.
The Nursery features a design and creative led environment, with a strong emphasis on children learning through play and fun. The nursery will be open from 08.00 – 18.00, with AM/PM or full day sessions taking place, with early openings and late finishes. Flexibility will be needed to meet the needs of the nursery.
Ø The flexibility to work both early and late shifts on a rota system
Ø Hold at least an NNEB or NVQ3 in Child Care or equivalent or higher
Ø Experience of working with young children (1 – 3 years)
Ø Sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
Ø Sound knowledge of child development and a good understanding of the needs of young children including those with special educational needs
Ø Have a sound knowledge of good nursery practice and an interest in keeping up to date. This will include attending training and cascading training within the staff team.
Ø To work alongside the direction of the Deputy Manager, responsible for a group of children as a key person.
Ø To work as part of a team in a positive and proactive way to ensure the provision of high quality care and education for all children in the Nursery.
Ø To work in partnership with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager (to be known as the Management Team) in partnership with colleagues, parents and outside agencies where appropriate in the interests of each child’s welfare and wellbeing.
Ø To foster the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of all children at the Nursery, including those with special educational needs.
To support the Room Leader in relation to:
Ø Observing, assessing and recording each child’s progress
Ø Planning and evaluating play to meet children’s needs and interests
Ø Working with children as appropriate to their development
Ø Working in partnership with parents
Ø Working with the team to ensure a smooth transition from home to Nursery
Ø Drawing on the expertise of colleagues within the Nursery to prepare play situations for individual children
Ø 20 Days holiday including Bank holidays, plus two additional weeks in December/January
Ø Salary up to £17,500 per year based on qualifications and experience
Ø Full training will be provided, as well as ongoing training throughout your development with Halo Nursery
Ø Opportunities to progress to Deputy Manager with Halo Nursery

As Halo Nursery has identified further sites for expansion Halo Board of Directors need staff to be motivated to grow within the business.
