Recruit An Apprentice
If your total wage bill is less than £3m per annum and if you employ fewer than 50 staff- you’re classed as a non-levy paying employer and therefore, you’ll be expected to only make a 5% contribution towards the cost of your apprentice’s training (with the exception of learners aged 16 – 18 who are completely free of charge).
The government will pay the remaining 95% up to a maximum amount of funding allowed for the apprenticeship. You’ll be expected to meet, in full, any cost which is above the funding band maximum. Full details on government funding rules can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apprenticeship-funding-rules.
Off-the-job training is defined as any activity that is not part of an apprentice's day-to-day role, but which supports their apprenticeship training.
In England, to be eligible for government funding, full-time apprentices working at least 30 hours per week must spend at least 20% of their normal working hours on off-the-job training. For calculation purposes only, working hours are capped at 30 hours per week, and this equates to an average of 6 hours of off-the-job training per week.
We will advertise your role for free on our job board. Once we receive some suitable CVs, we’ll sort through them and put forward any candidates we feel would be a good match for your setting.
Once you’ve found your ideal apprentice, we’ll help them transition into their new role and sign them up for their childcare apprenticeship.
